How To Live Originally

How To Live Originally

By Rev. Clive deLaporte

Last week, in honor of Earth Day, we talked about the Three Principles of Spiritual Stewardship: Recognition, Responsibility and Reward. This week we continue our reflection of those principles as we contemplate How To Live Originally.

Centered in Divine Origin, I live originally, connected and cooperating in the community of Divine good, through the power of Love.

To live from Divine Origin, is to live originally, fulfilling our spiritual purpose to live with connection and cooperation in the community of our individual and collective Divine good.

Our name and philosophy is Unity. We recognize that all and everything has one Origin, and we are all original and unique in our experience and expression of that Origin, the Divine One, the Divine All, the Divine Everything. I was reminded of the uniqueness of our individual perceptions and perspectives over a cup of coffee this week, in the sharing of a story.

Recently a couple called in to a local radio station to express their dissatisfaction and to request that the radio station help them address a wrong. They wanted to put the word out and start a petition to get the local county government to rectify what they felt was a very dangerous situation. They were very concerned about where a deer crossing was located on the interstate. They felt that the deer were crossing at a location that was extremely dangerous to motorists. They strongly suggested that the deer crossing signs be moved another two miles further north of the city, that having the deer cross there would be much safer for motorists, and of course the deer. Try as they might, the hosts of the radio show, while trying to stifle their fits of laughter, failed to get the callers to understand that the deer cross where they want to, and the signs on the interstate were there to warn the motorists of  the deer crossing, and not to show the deer where to cross. Unfortunately, in spite of repeated attempts, the radio hosts were unsuccessful in changing the caller’s perception and the call ended with the couple oblivious to the error of their perspective and frustrated by the lack of cooperation from the radio station.

Yes, we are one and all, unique in our perceptions and perspectives, and thereby also unique in our experiences and expressions. The way we see things largely determines how we experience the world and express ourselves in life and defines our unique contribution to our collective common good.

To live from Origin, is to live originally, fulfilling our spiritual purpose to live connected, cooperating in the community of our individual and collective Divine good.

Living Originally is to live with Recognition.

Recognition is to live with awareness and acceptance of our individual and collective Origin. To live with awareness and acceptance is to recognize our universal origin, oneness and the unity of our individual and collective good.

Living Originally is to live with Responsibility.

Responsibility is live with response-ability, to do what is, individually and collectively, ours to do. To do what is yours, to do what is mine to do, to do what is ours to do, is to again recognize our universal origin, our oneness, and also take responsibility for the unity of our individual and collective good.

Living Originally is to live with Reward.

Living originally with recognition and responsibility has the reward of living with connection and cooperation in community of our collective and common good. Individually we can do some, but together we can do more, possibility all.

Community connects us in cooperation and collaboration toward our individual and collective common good.

So, what has Love got to do with it?

Love is our ability to desire, attract our Divine truth, come into union and harmony with our Divine good. We close out the month of April as our month for the power of Love by recognizing our responsibility to give and receive love as the one true means of connecting, cooperating and creating the community of our Divine good.

Through the daily practice of the spiritual principles of Recognition, Responsibility and Reward we learn and grow in competence to live from our Divine Origin, to live originally, fulfilling our spiritual purpose to live connected and cooperating in the community of our individual and collective Divine good, through the power of Love.

Centered in Divine Origin, I live originally, connected and cooperating in the community of Divine good, through the power of Love.

Until next week, the bountiful blessing of Divine good to you.
